Nicola Stockmann announced as new APTUK president

Ms Stockmann will take over as president 1 March 2024.

The Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK) made the announcement on X (formerly known as Twitter) on 13 December, Ms Stockmann (pictured) is set to take over from her predecessor, Claire Steele, 1 March 2024.

Nicola set up the Hampshire branch of APTUK in 2019, following her attendance at the APTUK conference that year. The branch went on to win the Branch of the Year Award at the APTUK Pharmacy Technician Awards in 2022.

Since qualifying as a pharmacy technician, Nicola has held roles in Medicines Management, Clinical Trials and a secondment as a Medication Safety Officer. Currently, she is the Dispensaries Service Lead and Pharmacy Operations Manager at Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust.

Upon the announcement, Nicola said to Training Matters: "I am delighted to be taking on the prestigious role of President from March 2024. I will continue to champion the pharmacy technician profession as I have in my capacity as Vice President, during such a pivotal time for pharmacy."
